The BCM® AR-15 Extractor Spring Upgrade Kit is a heavy coil design made for the increased extractor tension required on many AR15, M4, M16 short barreled rifles. PLEASE NOTE: True MIL-SPEC heat treat and coating leaves these extractors with a less than ideal surface appearance. These extractors are machined on a CNC swiss style lathe out of 4140 gun quality material, and are maganese phosphate coated. The MBED is a single tool that a single individual can use to get the rifle back into working order in a short amount of time. This is a MIL-SPEC AR-15 replacement extractor. When I removed the bolt from the bolt carrier, I immediately saw the problem. The charging handle gives minimal leverage to the bolt carrier group and requires multiple tools and at least two individuals to clear these stoppages. Typically this is caused by a faulty extractor a problem I have seen before. The AR-15/AR-10 platform does not allow for the user to have access to the bolt like the AK47, M1 Garand or M14 style rifles. The MBED can be used to aide in any stoppage where direct access to the bolt carrier is needed. May be required for use in DPMS G2 Bolts for full-auto use. Comparing the KAK extractor to the 5.56 showed a large difference in quality. The extractor on the BCG sheared off on the first steel case 7.62 round it ever fired. The MBED can also be used to clear an over pressured round or any stoppage where the casing is stuck in the chamber and has seized function of the rifle. K-SPEC AR15 Bolt- 7.62x39, Dual Ejector 99.95. The MBED is effectively used to clear the most common stoppages such as a double feed where the second round is wedged above the BCG. The Manual Bolt Extraction Device (MBED) is designed to be used in the event of a malfunction where you need direct access to the bolt carrier group (BCG) and the leverage provided by the charging handle is insufficient. ![]()
